You couldn’t have thought of a better name for the mountain inn and restaurant: Heimeli. Here, in the middle of the magical mountain world in Sapün, which is best reached via Chur – Langwies – Sapün, you simply feel at home. After a walk in wind and weather, there is hardly anything better than warming up by the tiled stove. The menu takes you on a culinary journey through Graubünden. A hearty meal of Capuns or Bündner Krautpizokel, accompanied by a world-class Pinot Noir from Nord-Bünden, is a great way to live. If you still haven’t had enough of the charming “HEIMELI”, stay in one of the antique Graubünden rooms with a purist ambience and wake up the next morning in an unspoilt landscape with fresh Alpine air.
Bettina Schlumpf loves the trail through the Sapün Valley with its steep slopes, beautiful waterfalls and charming mountain pastures. “It’s like being in another world: rustic and cozy. The food is fantastic and the hospitality is warm. You simply feel at home here,” she says enthusiastically.

Following in the footsteps of the painter Giovanni Segantini (1894-1899) takes you to one of the most beautiful vantage points in the Upper Engadin. The journey up to Muottas Muragl already gives you an idea of the spectacular panorama that opens up before you. From the Muottas Muragl mountain station (2,456 m above sea level), a well-marked path leads up to the Segantini Hut (2,7131 m above sea level) for sure-footed mountain hikers. The view across to St. Moritz is fantastic. The hosts Angelo and Susanna Baggenstoss have many a surprise in store for their guests.
Morena Vassella can understand that Giovanni Segantini was deeply impressed by the breathtaking view. “You want to be here, you want to stay here, because the view touches the soul. I always like to take a break at the Segantini Hut,” says Morena.

In Graubünden, you can take your time and leave the hectic pace of everyday life behind. The Ochsenalp at 1939 m above sea level impresses with its unique natural scenery, tranquil mountain world and culinary delights. That’s why the approach here is “Patschifig”. In Graubünden, “Patschifig” stands for “cozy”. After hiking, the appetite is a welcome companion. Take a seat at the long tables and slide a little closer together. Traditional dishes are freshly prepared every day. With regional products, of course.
Natasa Subaric got to know the Ochsenalp on a bike tour and made her first stop there. “Ever since I was up here for the first time, I’ve grown fond of this place. I find peace and relaxation here. The rustic mountain restaurant serves its guests with everything their heart and stomach could desire. The selected products taste delicious and, paired with the magnificent view, they are even better.”

Below the Piz Scalottas lies the cozy and lovingly decorated June Hütte with a unique view of a backdrop that could not be more beautiful. The restaurant with its low ceiling and wood paneling is a popular meeting place for hikers, connoisseurs, bikers and romantics. The June Hütte looks back on a heart-warming and tragic history.
Sascha Ginesta recommends listening to the story told by the landlady Monika herself. As you listen to her, your gaze slowly wanders over the magnificent panorama – in summer and winter alike.

In conversation with Sascha Ginesta during the hike to the June Hütte.
Interview: Carmen Schiltknecht
With the opening of an independent branch in Chur in 2012, Ginesta began to actively develop the Graubünden market area. In 2018, the sphere of activity was expanded with a further branch in St. Moritz.
Sascha, you are a partner and managing director of both companies and were born in Graubünden. Are your customers in some cases the same as those of your cousin Claude Ginesta in Küsnacht?
My team and I are passionate about traveling to the most popular tourist destinations in Graubünden every day. In fact, it’s not unusual for us to deal with the same clients as my cousin when it comes to vacation properties.
What synergies can you use?
I was able to access and build on an intact infrastructure right from the start. Thanks to a carefully managed CRM, Ginesta has its own sales network. Added to this are the professional website, newsletter and activities on social media channels. I am proud to be able to write a brand called Ginesta with 75 years of company experience on my sails.
How does the exchange of know-how work within the five Ginesta offices?
We all have access to a shared IT infrastructure and take the meeting culture very seriously. We use technical aids such as video telephony. The location no longer plays a role, but participation and rapid exchange do.
How does Ginesta ensure that you are familiar with the latest technologies?
Claude and I attend events in the USA every year. This provides impetus and allows us to constantly introduce innovative solutions to the Swiss market.
How do you use international networks?
To be successful on the international Real Estate market, a well-maintained network is essential. I often travel to international symposia and make new contacts. The professionalism of our partner agency and trust play a central role in this. These contacts make it possible to offer our properties abroad on the most prominent platforms and through top-class partners.
Relax and unwind. Alpine air. Culinary delights. Laughter. Sitting together. Starry skies. All this can be experienced when you visit the mountain inns selected by the Graubünden Ginesta team.
