The topic keeps coming up and is currently back on the political agenda: a tightening of the Lex Koller. The new goal: to make it more difficult for foreigners to acquire commercial properties in Switzerland. This is being fueled by tabloid media reporting on alleged violations of the Lex Koller with regard to residential properties and by the vague fear that foreign buyers would undermine the law.
Our experience shows a different picture. The state control of the current Lex Koller is strict and works extremely well. That is why we are clearly of the opinion that the Lex Koller is ideal for a small country like ours: it protects us Swiss, but still gives foreigners willing to settle here the freedom to buy their own home or a vacation property.
So welcome to our highlights of the month.

Yours, Claude Ginesta
