With “IN PASSING,” Claude Ginesta reveals a side of himself that few know.

The exhibition “IN PASSING” features 35 photographic works created between 2020 and 2026 that offer surprising insights into his perception of the world.

Anyone walking through the exhibition “IN PASSING” will encounter a different side of him: a personal, experimental, and at times unexpected one.

The title says it all. “IN PASSING” showcases a broad spectrum of subjects, perspectives, and moods. Claude Ginesta moves through his surroundings with a keen eye, capturing subjects that others might otherwise pass by. The approximately 30 works on display were created over the past six years and are being shown publicly in this form for the first time.

Between Intuition and Construction

The contrasts in the images also reflect two sides of the photographer. As a Real Estate entrepreneur, Ginesta moves daily in a world of the built and the planned—a world of structures, decisions, and responsibility. In his photography, he simultaneously seeks out the fleeting, the atmospheric, and that which cannot be fully controlled.

He finds artistic inspiration, among other things, in his favorite artist, Gerhard Richter, and Richter’s use of blur and smudging. Long before the advent of digital photography, Claude Ginesta experimented on his own with old film, multiple exposures, and filters placed in front of the lens. Today, he uses digital tools to alter the color, contrast, and tonality of his photographs. He does not use artificial intelligence in this process. The starting point is always his own photograph.

This opens up yet another level of the two realities: the world that existed before the camera and the one that emerges from it through perception and editing. Salvador Dalí succinctly summed up this tension: “One day, we will have to officially admit that what we have christened ‘reality’ is an even greater illusion than the world of dreams.”

The Unknown Side of the Entrepreneur

For Ginesta, photography has served as a counterbalance to his professional life for decades.

No people are visible in the photographs on display. Instead, the focus is on nature, light, movement, architecture, and form.

The fact that Ginesta is exhibiting this previously private collection for the first time at Ginesta Real Estate’s headquarters brings his two realities together spatially as well: the photographs become part of the very environment to which they simultaneously serve as a counterpoint.

The photographs are on display in the office spaces and thus become part of the company’s daily routine. Clients encounter the works quite naturally during consultations and visits.

At the same time, “IN PASSING” is not intended to be reserved solely for a business audience. Claude Ginesta wants to make his photographic work accessible to a broader audience.

All works are available for purchase. The proceeds will be donated to one of three selected nonprofit organizations to support their work.
