A multi-story, vertically oriented building that is typically used as a residential, office, and commercial property and has a total height of at least 150 meters. In Switzerland, only two buildings currently meet this criterion: the Roche Towers 1 and 2, which stand at 178 and 205 meters, respectively.
According to the Swiss definition established by the Association of Cantonal Building Insurance Companies, buildings with this type of use and a height of 30 meters or more are classified as high-rise buildings.
