[objektbeschreibung] => Benefitting from an idyllic position on Lake Constance, the Schloss has a considerable history behind it dating back to when the Bishop of Constance first built a stronghold with two massive towers here in 1251. Both towers remained standing when the fortress was demolished in 1355 and were integrated into the new moated keep when it was reconstructed in the 15th century. The property exchanged hands a number of times before Jerôme Bonaparte, brother of Napoleon I, acquired it and transformed the castle into a palatial mansion in the Neogothic style in the 19th century. After further changes of owner, the today’s family bought the Schloss and renovated it.
In 1969 the Schloss was accorded protected monument status by the federal Ministry of Culture and is offered today just as it was at that time.
We are currently seeking new owners who will restore it to its former glory and allow the residence to flourish once again. The estate comprises the structurally still sound Schloss, with 1,423 m2 of living and ancillary space, along with the former barn, used for commercial purposes, with 477 m2 of living and ancillary space. In addition, the 16,120 m2 plot presents the opportunity.
