Newsletter Grischa December 2017

Dear Real-Estate Friends

The view from the window over the last few days has set pulses in the Grisons racing. The winter landscapes, newly bedecked in pristine snow, have been enticing guests up into the mountains since early December – conditions that we had only been able to dream of in the last couple of years. Tourism pundits are prophesying a turnaround and are promising hotels and ski lifts an upward swing. Even the Euro shock seems to have been overcome.

The real estate market is also showing signs of recovery. After several tough years - and, to some extent, significant price erosions in certain regions - demand is again beginning to increase along with the number of transactions, due largely to the improvement in options available. Good locations and second homes, in particular, can claim to have seen a market recovery. In the holiday apartment sector there is still over-supply, but this is steadily declining according to recent analyses undertaken by Wüest Partners.

We are accordingly allowing ourselves to be swayed by the optimism of the tourism pundits and are banking on what we hope will turn out to be a snow-filled, successful winter season. At this point it remains for us to wish you, our esteemed clients, business partners, and friends, a joyful festive season together with a good start to the New Year.

With snow-capped greetings from the Grisons peaks

Sascha Ginesta
