Location

Zollikon, a completely intact village and the very first town on the right banks of Lake Zurich, has over 12,000 inhabitants. It seamlessly borders the City of Zurich. To this day, Zollikon has preserved its historic complexion by rigorously preserving its beautiful old village center. The Zollikerberg (first stop after the Rehalp end station on Tram Line 11) is also part of Zollikon.

Public transportation

A few minutes with the S-Bahn, the Forchbahn, the tram regional bus, or the ferry will take you to Zurich City. Just 23 minutes on the S-Bahn will get you to Zurich airport. Shopping Zollikon may be calm and peaceful, but it is well serviced thanks to the Migros, retail shops, postal services, beauty salons and hair stylists, physicians, and dentists.

Schools

The municipality has organized play groups for children, nurseries, child daycare services, six kindergartens, two primary schools and a secondary school. One of the very rare Swiss Tagesschule (day schools) is located on the Zollikerberg. The nearest Gymnasium (college preparatory school) is located in Küsnacht.

Recreation

The panoply of sports activities is at the disposal of residents and visitors, thanks to the nature local to Zollikon, expansive green zones, beautiful old Bretter natatorium, the Fohrbach indoor/outdoor pools and three athletic centers.  In addition, an exciting selection of recreational options is offered by clubs and associations of all types, the Office of Recreational Services with its thrilling range of courses, the families club, a library, a child and youth culture program, the theater group and the Kulturkreis.

Restaurants

Let yourself be pampered by the staff at the “Zur Höhe“ tavern, the Rössli inn, the “Zollikerstube" pub and other restaurants with diverse gastronomic concepts.
