Location

Seefeld lies on the border with Zollikon, and runs along the Lake until you reach the Bellevue district. It is one of the most popular neighborhoods in all of Zurich.

Transportation

The No. 2 and No. 4 tram lines and the No. 33 bus line all service Seefeld. The Swiss Railways (SBB) train can get you from Tiefenbrunnen down the Gold Coast and all the way to Rapperswil in no time flat. Or, it can take you in the opposite direction to Zurich Central Station (HB/Hauptbahnhof) in a mere 2 minutes – and from there, to any destination you choose.

Schools

Seefeld features a high density of school of all types, a diversity of kindergartens, every level of elementary and secondary school, and the “Freigymi,” a private gymnasium with a long, venerable history. Other nearby public gymnasiums (college preparatory schools) are located in Stadelhofen and along Rämistrasse, above the Bellevue neighborhood.

Shopping

When it comes to shopping, Seefeld has everything you need. Numerous grocery stores, furniture and flower shops, designer stores and fashion boutiques all feature an exciting selection of products. At the same time, residents and visitors have convenient access to banks, postal services, hair salons for men and women, video stores, and much more.

Recreation

The shores of the Lake are a surefire guarantee of relaxation, rejuvenation and superb recreation. Just a few minutes’ walk away, they offer endless amenities, from the beautiful park facilities to the Zürichhorn, the botanical gardens, the Badi Tiefenbrunnen public beach and the piers, where you can select from a whole variety of Lake Zurich tours, and then climb aboard! A great jogging route starts from Seefeld, through the fantastic Küsnacht ravine, past the Trichtenhauser water mill, until you reach the Forch pass. The street cafés, garden taverns, and trendy bars add to the local flair. Zurich City, with its rich cultural scene, theaters, cinemas, restaurants, bars, clubs, and its high-end shopping district, as well as the City's old town, can all be conveniently reached from Seefeld on foot.

Restaurants

Seefeld’s numerous restaurants, featuring a whole world of different cuisines, will force you to make a difficult choice if you seek to please the palate properly! Especially popular restaurants mean advance reservations are de rigeur; they include “Latino,” the elegant “Conti,” the “Quaglinos” bistro, sushi restaurant “Ginger,” the “Miracle” (renowned for having the best cordon bleu in the City), “Totò,” “Lakeside” (which is right on the Lake), “Brasserie Seefeld,” and the “Blaue Ente” at the Tiefenbrunnen mill – to just mention a few!
