Residential zones are normally classified according to the restrictions on the type, height and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginesta.ch\/de\/magazin\/glossar\/geschossflaeche\" onclick=\"window.open(this.href, '', 'resizable=no,status=no,location=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no,fullscreen=no,scrollbars=yes,dependent=no'); return false;\">floor area <\/a>of the buildings that may be constructed in them. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There are three purely residential zones in Switzerland: W1 (single-storey residential building), W2 (two-storey residential building) and W3 (three-storey residential building).
