{"id":4879,"date":"2022-03-10T14:17:03","date_gmt":"2022-03-10T13:17:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gin001.staging.360vier.net\/glossar\/recreation-zone\/"},"modified":"2024-10-28T16:32:22","modified_gmt":"2024-10-28T15:32:22","slug":"recreation-zone","status":"publish","type":"glossar","link":"https:\/\/www.ginesta.ch\/en\/glossar\/recreation-zone\/","title":{"rendered":"Recreation zone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the case of recreation zones, a distinction is made between sports facilities, tennis courts, swimming pools or similar and allotment gardens.<\/p>\n<p>While the construction of buildings that serve the operation of publicly accessible sports facilities is permitted, the restrictions on allotment gardens &#8211; or as they are popularly called &quot;allotment gardens&quot; &#8211; are usually much more restrictive with clear limitations on area and use. In the city of Zurich, for example, such a small house including a pergola may not be larger than 15 square metres, nor may people spend the night in it.<\/p>\n<p>At the national level, a distinction is made between three zones: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ginesta.ch\/en\/magazine\/glossary\/building-zones\">Building zones<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginesta.ch\/en\/magazine\/glossary\/agricultural-zone\">agricultural zones<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginesta.ch\/en\/magazine\/glossary\/protection-zone\">protection zones.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cantonal law may provide for further use zones; for example, there are five types of zones in the canton of Zurich.
