Dear Real Estate friends,
It has recently been announced that a nationwide register for “fare dodgers on public transport” is to be introduced.
For years, we have been calling for a nationwide debt collection register that takes care of more than just peccadilloes such as fare dodgers. Because as a result of the current non-transparent register, the amount of damage to the real estate industry is immense and much higher than that of fare dodgers on buses and streetcars. Our management clients – owners of apartment buildings – are repeatedly cheated by tenants who, thanks to the current regulations, can very easily obtain a clean debt enforcement extract. They simply change their place of residence or city district and their debt collection records are no longer visible. It’s a shame that such important problems are not being tackled nationwide.
